Taylor's 2 month well baby visit

Took Taylor in for her two month well baby visit today. She had to get three shots and one oral vaccine, but she did pretty good. She cried, but then immediately fell asleep in the car on the way home.

The doctor said that she has excellent social skills and great head movement and control. She smiled at me the entire time and even gave a gummy grin to the doctor.

Height: 24 1/2" (95th percentile)

Weight: 11 pounds, 3 ounces (75th percentile)

Here's a picture of Taylor with her two bandaids.

Baseball outside

We have been thinking of different things to do outside with Ella so that we can play in our yard without feeling like we have to leave and go to the park. Thanks to the Lamz family website we got the idea to get a T-ball set for Ella. We weren't sure how much she would enjoy it, but we figured it was worth a shot. She had a blast right away! We played outside for about an hour without her getting bored and it's a great way to tire her out so that she takes a good nap. She even took turns so Mama got to hit the balls and she would just go chase them and put them on the tee for me. There is also a video and of course she asks to see the picture right away not understanding that we were taking a movie, not a picture :)

Visit with Bob

Bob came in to town last weekend and stopped by the house to visit with Ella and to meet Taylor for the first time. He was sitting down holding Taylor, so we sat Ella down next to them with her baby.

Princess Ella

For Ella's second birthday, she received a Cinderella outfit to play dress up with. We waited until this weekend to let her play with it for the first time and she loved it! The best part is that she understood that she couldn't wear her dress while eating or during nap time. She kept coming up to me with her dress on saying "I a pretty princess?". It was very sweet.

Taylor's glasses

We couldn't resist getting Taylor a little pair of sunglasses when we were out shopping the other day (it was Papa who insisted on buying them for her).

Ignore the pictures on the TV in the background, bad timing for a Playtex commercial :)

Mother's Day 2009

My first Mother's Day as the mom of two girls, and it was great. I am so blessed to have such a beautiful family and although it was a pretty uneventful day, it was the little things that made it so much fun. Here are a few pictures of Ella and I baking together for the first time. We made a batch of brownies (since I am not a chocolate fan, these were more for Papa and Ella to enjoy) on Sunday morning. Ella poured in the water and the eggs, and stirred the batter. She recently learned a song from Dora about mixing the chocolate that she sings in spanish all the time now, so this was a very appropriate activity for us.

Ella's class picture

Ella had school pictures taken last month and we bought a class picture because we think it turned out so cute. Also because she is always talking about her friends at school and she is able to point to the picture and tell us who everyone is. The teacher all the way left is Ms. Kristin and the teacher all the way right is Ms. Carmen. Both teachers are so great and Ella gets excited to see them everyday.

The many expressions of Taylor

With the awake periods that Taylor has been having, comes many facial expressions. She started smiling last week and it has made the sleepless nights so worth it! I think that we are finally figuring out a pattern for her though and last night she slept great. She went to sleep at 10:30 pm and woke at 1:30 pm. Was up for about 1/2 hour and then went back to sleep until 6 am.

Here are a few pictures taken last weekend of Taylor's different expressions:

Ella's 2 1/2 year check up

At the pediatrician that we go to, they have kids come in for a 2 1/2 year well child check up. Tonight we took Ella for her appointment and we went as a family. Ella was behind on her shots because we had switched doctors, so we tried to prepare her as much as possible. She did great with all of the appointment...then it was time for shots. We told her that if she was a big girl we could get an ice cream treat (yes, we bribe our daughter). She sat on Mama's lap and got her two shots. She did cry, but only for about 15 seconds and then she was all better and asking for ice cream and stickers. We were very proud of our big girl!
