Papa and Taylor

It's almost shocking at times how much I think Taylor looks like her Papa. You can't see it in any of the pictures, but her eyes seem to be changing from a grayish color to more blue. Here is how I found them when I left for just a minute to get a change of clothes for Taylor.

Taylor and Bumbo (and Ella too)

Here are a few more pictures taken today of Taylor in her Bumbo seat and one with her big sister.

Father's Day 2009

On Father's Day, we headed over to the Sigrist House to celebrate and spend time with family. Ella and Taylor are watched by Sara every Tuesday and Thursday and she really enjoys playing with Bri and Morgan. Here are a few pictures of all the girls. They all love holding Taylor so Sara stayed close by so everyone could take a turn while I snapped pictures.

Ella and Taylor at 3 months

Here is a picture of Ella at 3 months and 1 day and a picture of Taylor at 2 days shy of 3 months.

Taylor time

I know it's been a little while since I dedicated a post to Taylor...so here are a few pictures of her today playing on her play mat. Her head and next control has strengthened so much in the last few weeks. She still seems to be a little peanut, especially since everywhere we go people are asking us if she was born pre-mature b/c she looks so small still. She is just long and lean, but growing like a healthy little girl.

Green Bay trip

We packed up the van and headed to Green Bay this weekend for Carla and Mitch's baby shower/cook out. The 3 hour trip took 6 hours on the way there and 4 hours on the way back. Needless to say, Taylor is not a huge fan of the car, but did really well actually. With Taylor having to every three hours, stopping for lunch and construction along the way, we were incredibly happy when we arrived! We stayed the night at a hotel with The Dornfeld family (Matt, Lori, Ellie and Emily) and really had a great time. Carla looks completely adorable and we are so excited to meet the little one soon :)

Here are two pictures that we took at Carla and Mitch's house where the girls ate together, played bubbles and did sticker books.

"I making chocolate"

Last weekend Ella and I made cookie brownies for the house. Anytime I start to cook these days, Ella grabs a chair and says "I help you". So, in an attempt to help me, Ella stirred the brownie mixture and after I poured it in the pan, she enjoyed the batter.

New glasses

Ella has now been wearing glasses for over a year and it was time for a new eye exam last week. Papa took her to the eye doctor and she did excellent! She was able to tell the doctor all of the pictures she saw, and even told her "too little" when she couldn't see the smaller images. Because she is bigger and used to her glasses, we got to go pick out some really cute new frames.

These pictures were taken just before bedtime, so we weren't able to capture a smile, but we think she looks so pretty in her new glasses.

Ella and Taylor update

It's been quite some time since we have posted. We had a great Memorial Day weekend and the weekend after cooking out and spending time with friends. I started back to work on Wednesday and it has been quite an adjustment. I thought that there wasn't enough hours in one day with just Ella, now it feels as though there is even less. Time flies by at work and at home and we are definitely still trying to get into a routine of some sort.

Ella's vocabulary since we brought home Taylor has increased incredibly. Her new favorite saying is "I no want to". This has actually been quite helpful as it makes it a whole lot easier to understand what she is requesting (and dealing with the aftermath when we don't give her everything she wants). She starts in the older 2, young 3 classroom in just one week. In that room they kick potty training into full gear and we will be doing the same at home.

Taylor is finally getting on a schedule and it has made my return to work a bit easier. She is officially eating every three hours and has started going to sleep right around 9 pm (instead of staying up until 11 pm). She sleeps in the bassinet next to our bed and wakes to eat around 1:30 am and then again at 6 am. She coos and smiles a lot and her face lights up when she sees her mama and papa.

Here are a few videos...
