Taylor is 10 months old

What a fast 10 months it has been!

Each month we get a report from Taylor's school about the things they are teaching her and the things that she is doing now. They are working on signing words with her (drink, eat, more and all done), practicing familiar words, and singing songs with her. Here is what they had to say about some other developmental areas:

Gross Motor Skills: This has been another big month for Taylor! She has begun to take steps, and is very close to learning how to completely walk!! Wow!! This is the youngest that any of us has ever seen! She's amazing.

Small Motor Skills: Taylor has mastered the eye-hand coordination necessary to pick up small pieces of food between her thumb and index finger using the pincher grasp, and putting them in her mouth! She has also figured out how to drink out of a sippy cup this month as well. We have also been having her practice using a spoon during meal times. She is doing great!

Notes:
Taylor is definitely somthing else! We all have such a blast with her. Her favorite thing to do lately is take out each and every book out of our little table bin, and throw them on the floor, one by one. Then she will sit on the floor and look at each and every one of them. It's so cute to watch her! She's too funny. She has also learned so many new sounds this month and loves to shout them out to the world! We swear she says "Ella!" and know that she says "Uh-oh!" That's amazing. We are still working on "Ma, Ma".

Bath time 1/31/2010

It is quite an experience for Ella and Taylor to take a bath together. Taylor is a little fish. Once she sees the bathtub she wants in and hates to be taken out. She loves splashing and climing all over Ella. Luckily Ella is a pretty good sport about it all. Since she is so good while Taylor is in with her, she gets to stay in and play all by herself for a few extra minutes.

My two Ms

Nick and Jenny (Fisher) went to Las Vegas on vacation and brought the girls back M&M shirts. They also came over Saturday night to visit... we had a great time playing and having grown up talk after the girls went to bed.

Walking video

It's been about a month of Taylor taking a few steps here and there. It started at 8 months and she has gradually increased her steps. She will take 2-3 steps from one toy to another, but if it's any further, she will get down and crawl to get there faster.

After a few requests for videos, I grabbed the camera and she showed her skills on the first try.

Excuse the messy room....it's what happens when we stay at home all day and play in the basement (and watch football).

Oma's surprise party

Saturday we threw Oma a surprise birthday party at her house. Opa took her out shopping all day long and she was shocked to come in to a full house of family, friends and food. Ella was extra excited about the birthday party because she kept saying it was a secret and whispering about it. Very cute.

Happy Birthday Oma....we love you :)

New Years Cheer

At 10 pm Ella and Ellie rang in the new year with some sparkling grape juice. Ella was a big fan...Ellie not so much. Both girls toasted though and let me take a few pictures :)

New Years Eve

For New Year's Eve, Mama and her girls headed up to Wisconsin to spend the night having fun with The Dornfeld family. We got there right at lunch time and headed over to Monkey Joes for some jumping fun. Emily stayed behind to tap a nap so it was the three little ones, myself, Lori and Lola met us there too.

Here's a picture of Taylor and Emily playing next to each other in the same outfit.

After Monkey Joe's, Taylor took a little nap while the bigger girls watched a movie. We let Ellie and Ella stay up until 10 pm, when we did a New Year's cheer to sparkling grape juice. This was their first official sleepover since Ella brought her Dora inflatable bed and slept in the same room as Ellie. They were so tired by the end of the night that they both feel asleep instantly. It was very successful.
We had a great time...thanks for having us!
