Apples, No. Caramel, yes.
We went out to dinner on Saturday night as a family and we thought it was good timing to have our camera with us. With Ella's meal we had the option of two sides and we picked sliced apples with caramel dipping sauce as one of them. We tried getting Ella to eat the apples and she wasn't interested until she had tasted the caramel. For the next few minutes, she continued dipping the apples in and sucking on them just for the caramel. If she accidentally took a bite of the apple, she would spit it out. It was messy, but pretty funny.

Pair #3
Unfortunately today was another trip to the eye doctor to get Ella's 3rd pair of glasses. The last ones happened to break at school and they were unable to tell us exactly what happened. We are beginning to think that these "pediatric" glasses were not made for kids at all.
Ella and Mama also did some shopping for summer clothes for Ella. We are having a hard time finding shorts that fit in the waist without being too tight in the thighs. In pants, dresses and one piece outfits she can still fit into a 2T, but when it comes to shorts she is needing a 3T already. This is one of my favorite new outfits of hers....it's so 70s jumper :)
I'm also posting a quick video of Ella "jumping". I've read that most kids aren't able to actually jump until 2-3 years old, so this is her idea of a jump at almost 21 months.

Happy Birthday Opa and Meena
Yesterday was Opa's birthday and today is Meena's birthday. We have been teaching Ella to say "open" and "close" and it turns out that she is also pretty good at saying "Opa". And, since she is recently boycotting saying "Mama" or "Papa"....she didn't do so well saying "Meena".
Happy birthday! We love you both :)

Juice
Lately we can ask Ella to say a variety of words and she will try to repeat them. Soemtimes she does a really good job, sometimes she speaks jibberish. The funniest thing that we have found out is that whenever we ask her to repeat the word "juice", she will only smack her lips. We thought it would be fun for everyone else to see and hear.

Blast from the past
Ella has been doing great with her glasses. She is transitioning to the older classroom now where she will stay until she is 24 months. Unfortunately her glasses broke over the weekend, but they put a rush order on a new pair (since these seemed defective to break in only 2 weeks) and we are picking them up Friday morning.
We haven't had a chance to take pictures yet this week, so I wanted to post a few pictures from June 2007.
Enjoy :)

Carla's wedding
We headed up to Green Bay this past weekend to attend and celebrate Carla and Mitch's wedding. Both the bride and groom looked amazing and we had a great time. Ella didn't quite make it to dancing, but she enjoyed the dinner and clapping for the wedding party. She also had the chance to play with her birthday buddy Ellie.
