Baby T is 7 months!

In our house Taylor is referred to as "Baby Taylor" or "Baby T". Ella is big on letters and we sometimes call her E and she calls up M and P. Anywho, Taylor turned seven months on Friday. I'm sure I've posted this a thousand times, but I can't believe how fast time has gone by. She is doing all sort of "tricks" and new things. For starters, she has finally started to sleep better. She was waking up every three hours for quite some time and just last week, she started sleeping longer stretches and waking only once or twice a night. It's heavenly.

She also has particular tastes about her baby food. She absolutely hates peas. We have tried feeding them to her twice, and both times she gags and sticks her fingers in mouth trying to get it out. She loves most fruits and lots of other veggies though. She is also a big fan of the Gerber puffs. They are little puffed rice treats that practically disolve the minute you put it in her mouth. She is really getting used the chewing on them, and will be ready to start trying new foods again soon.

Her crawling skills have improved over the last month and a half and she is a speed demon now. She is quick at pulling herself up onto things and giving us a great big smile. Lately she has discovered her tongue and most of the time you look at her, she is sticking it out or gnawing on it with her gums. Still no teeth, but she is drooling like one is on it's way in.

Brycen and Gavin's first birthday party

Wow....what a couple of busy weeks we've had! Three weekends ago we went out to Kingston, Illinois for Brycen and Gavin's first birthday party. The weather was beautiful (October is so unpredictable) and the girls had a great time.
Here are some pictures of the birthday boys...

And a picture of Taylor with Oma. She was a really good girl and enjoyed being held the entire time (which was a change of pace b/c nately she just wants to be on the ground so that she can explore).

Goebberts pumpkin farm

Last weekend we were able to spend some time at Goebberts pumpkin farm before we got too chilly. Taylor was warm and bundled up in her stroller and napped the entire time. Afterwards we enjoyed a yummy apple cider donut!

They had a few princess cut outs and Ella loved them...

Here she is laughing at the goats. They were practically begging for food but we didn't have a quarter on us to buy the food.

Matching sweaters

Well, my mom did it to me and Rebecca when we were little, and I can't resist. Anytime I find matching clothes for the girls I have to buy them...especially two adorable sweaters that were on clearance at Old Navy.

Here is our attempt at a sister picture and a family picture. It seems to be harder and harder to capture these days.

Ella and her future in babysitting

Ella got this babydoll for her 2nd bday from Fisher and this baby highchair from Grandma and Grandpa Martin when Taylor was born. We just pulled them both out today and she already loves them both. She is def not ready to babysit since she gets really upset when Taylor touches her or her things, but someday I'm sure they will be friends :)

Ella and her Meena

While we were at Brycen and Gavin's first birthday party, Meena took Ella over to play on the slide and Papa took some great pictures.

Taylor's 6 month follow up appt

Taylor went back to the doctor for a follow up visit for her ears and to get her vaccines. Doctor said that her ears look better, so she got her immunizations and a flu shot. She did great. Cried for maybe 15 seconds and then was fine again by the time we left the exam room. The morning before the appointment, Taylor was up early, so Mama and Taylor played while Ella and Papa were still sleeping. If Ella knew that Taylor was playing with her slide and "tea party" she would not be happy!

Standing up

Here is a video that we took of Taylor pulling herself up to stand. We are trying to tell her that she is growing up too fast and that we would like her to just slow down....but she is stubborn like her papa.

Ellie's 3rd birthday party

Last Sunday we headed up to Pewaukee Wisconsin for Ellie's third birthday party. Ella enjoyed doing a craft project and Taylor tried beating up a nine month old girl that was there.

Here are some pictures from the party. Happy 3rd birthday Ellie!

Ella's 3 year well child visit

Ella went to the doctor on Saturday morning for her well child exam. She was a very good girl and the visit went very well. Her ear tubes are both in place still 1 1/2 years later, but the left tube is just about to fall out. She is still in the top of the percentiles for her height and weight, and she was talking up a storm. It really seems like lately someone has switched Ella's talking switch to the 'on' position because just this past week she has turned into a chatterbox. She will just talk about everything and anything lately. There are very few quiet moments in our house these days.

Height: 38.5"

Weight: 37 lbs.

October 6, 2009

Ella's actual birthday was a Tuesday night this year, and Papa had to work nights. So Meena came by with us to celebrate and to paint Ella's fingernails and toenails pink and purple as she had requested. We sang happy birthday again and had another piece of yummy cake. Of course we all had on our party hats per Ella's request.

Ella's 3rd birthday party

Our little girl is 3 years old! On October 4th we had a birthday party and celebrated Ella's 3rd birthday with family and friends. It was a great time with a jumpy house/slide combo and lots of food. Ella was very lucky to receive some great gifts and we even got to jump for a few hours after the party while we still had the jumpy house set up.

Here are some pictures from her party. Videos will be added in a separate post soon.

Taylor's six month appt

Taylor went to the doctor today for her 6 month well baby visit. She was in a good mood as usual, and the doctor we saw was amazed at her abilities. She was trying to crawl all over the exam table, pulling at the paper on the table and sitting up whenever she tried to lay her down. Though she was supposed to get three shots today, we had to postpone them because my little girl has a double ear infection. Since she has been sick/congested since the middle of August, we decided that it was time to try an antibiotic to see if it will finally clear up.

Here are her stats (still long and lean):

Height: 27 1/4"
Weight: 15 pounds, 4 ounces
Head circumference: 16.5"
