Father's Day 2008

We had a great day today celebrating Father's Day. Ella wrote on the card herself and handed it to Papa in the morning. At lunch today, there was a game room at the restaurant that had a race car game. Ella asked to go "up" right when she saw it and she enjoyed pretending to drive it around.

Blast from the past

Ella has been doing great with her glasses. She is transitioning to the older classroom now where she will stay until she is 24 months. Unfortunately her glasses broke over the weekend, but they put a rush order on a new pair (since these seemed defective to break in only 2 weeks) and we are picking them up Friday morning.
We haven't had a chance to take pictures yet this week, so I wanted to post a few pictures from June 2007.

Splish Splash

Sunday morning in Green Bay, we played in the hotel pool. They had a great little kids area and Ella had a pretty good time. Ellie was a pro at going down the slide.

Carla's wedding

We headed up to Green Bay this past weekend to attend and celebrate Carla and Mitch's wedding. Both the bride and groom looked amazing and we had a great time. Ella didn't quite make it to dancing, but she enjoyed the dinner and clapping for the wedding party. She also had the chance to play with her birthday buddy Ellie.

Glasses - Day 1

The doctor mentioned that Ella may not put up too much of a fuss with her new glasses because she will finally be able to see. However, there is already a small battle going on around the house. While she is preoccupied, Ella doesn't realize that her glasses are on and she will leave them be. So, while she was eating and doing a puzzle, she kept them on for the most part. But once we sat down to watch a few cartoons before bed, she didn't want to keep them on. I'm sure that this is going to be a transitional period for her. I can even relate because it is not always easy to adjust to wearing glasses at first. So, day one at home, she wore them for about an hour to one hour and a half total. Tomorrow she will wear them to school and hopefully her teachers will help her keep them on.

Sliding down the stairs

Ella loves when Papa holds on to her while she slides down the bannister. As soon as she has landed, she climbs right back up the stairs to do it all over again!





And.....here is a picture of Nina's pups. Left is Dupree and on the right is Briggs. Both dogs loved Ella and she loved them both too.

Glasses sneak preview

Ella got fitted for her eyeglasses this afternoon and everything went great. The lenses are now on order and should arrive to the doctor in a week and then they will get shipped to us. They are pink plastic with the wrap around ear style to keep them on her face. Here is a little picture of what the frames are going to look like.
